We’re launching the first ever Pickerel for Parkinson’s virtual ice fishing tournament, which starts next Saturday and runs for 16 days.
The idea came to us – of course – while we were sitting in the ice shack, fishing: Let’s do an ice fishing tournament!
Why, you ask?
- First, to have some fun (wellness) before winter is over
- Second, draw some attention to Parkinson’s Disease and also steer some funds toward PD research*
How do I participate, you ask?
- Download the FishDonkey app, by Fishery Innovations for your mobile device. For more info, visit FishDonkey.com [Note: Tournament is Closed]
- Launch the app, and select “FISH IN A TOURNAMENT”
- Scroll down through the list of tournaments to find Pickerel for Parkinson’s tournament
- Join the tournament to register. The registration fee is $25.00 CDN, and FishDonkey collects a $3.25 fee at checkout (that fee goes to Fish Donkey)
- Get your fishing gear ready to go for Saturday, March 12
- Fish from Saturday, March 12 through Sunday, March 27
- *Important – all fish must be entered through the app – for more information, read the tournament overview on the app
- The prize purse will grow based on the number of anglers registered
- Prizes will be awarded after results are validated, probably by Monday, March 28
You’re already at Hill Country Canada, but visit Dan’s Wild Outdoors to experience a taste of outdoors life in NW Ontario.
*Approximately half of the registration fees will go toward the prize purse, and the other half to Parkinson’s research (we support the Royal University Hospital Foundation).
